This manuscript served as documented evidence in proceedings brought by the community Huexotzingo against its authorities. It is the only codex that we know the exact date of preparation: March 11 to 15, 1578. The tlacuilo gave a summary of the tax paid for each quarter between 1570 and 1578. The codex also includes a chart that describes the development of the lawsuit. It was part of the private collection of Don Alfredo Chavero, historian and collector of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Like other codices, it is in 1746 when the first documentation of this document is written; listed in the Catalogo del Museo Indiano collected by Lorenzo Boturini. [1]
